Tips for creating a good set list
Set lists are all about the songs...the set list. When choosing your songs make sure you pick songs that are fun, exciting, and challenging to play. Players don't want songs that are too easy, and they don't want ones that are too hard.
Not too hard - Ultimately, the best brackets are ones where the songs are all middle skill level that everyone can play pretty well. Much like any other tournaments, the best ones result in close battles, not blow-outs.
Try a theme - Try using a theme to pick your songs. All rock, all blues, all the same genre, all start with the letter A...there are tons of themes you can pull out of the stock list of songs.
When will my set list be used?
In short, we don't know. We get tons of set list suggestions a day and there is only so much time to schedule tournaments. We could use your set list today, tomorrow, next week, or a month from now. It's all about the songs. And we pay attention to which songs are suggested more than others and we try to find a balance betweenn popularity and challenge.
